Here's How To Get Your Money Back From Fubo Sportsbook

Though Fubo Sportsbook was shut down abruptly Monday, bettors will be refunded the money they have deposited but not yet wagered, the company says.

Fubo Sportsbook users can visit the website to withdraw funds through Nov. 17. If any money is in the account, the user will receive a physical check, which could take up to 14 business days after the request is made.

In-Person Withdrawals Available In Iowa, New Jersey

On Tuesday, one day after FuboTV Inc. shut down its sports betting app, the website indicated Fubo Sportsbook was still in operation. The website’s front page urged visitors to sign up so they could “receive an offer when Fubo Sportsbook launches in your state.”

However, by clicking on the FAQ link, users are told Fubo has ceased its online gaming operations and no longer accepts wagers or deposits.

“You can withdraw any funds you have deposited but not yet wagered,” the website states.

After Nov. 17, if an “open” bets wins, the bettor will receive a physical check at the address on file.

Bettors in Iowa and New Jersey have the option of withdrawing Fubo Sportsbook funds in person at brick-and-mortar casinos.

In Iowa, withdrawals are available at the Casino Queen, a riverboat casino in Marquette. In New Jersey, Fubo Sportsbook users can receive payment in person at Harrah’s Atlantic City.

Tennessee, Ohio Never Saw Fubo Sportsbook Launch

In at least two states, the Fubo Sportsbook app is being discontinued before it got off the ground.

On Tuesday, Mary Beth Thomas, executive director of the Tennessee Sports Wagering Advisory Council, confirmed to Gambling.com that Fubo Sportsbook, while licensed in the state, had not launched by this week.

Sports betting became legal in Tennessee in 2019, but only on mobile platforms. Tennessee does not have brick-and-mortar casinos or land-based sportsbooks.

In Ohio, Fubo Sportsbook was one of the online bookmakers that received conditional approval to operate in the state when legal sports betting is launched Jan. 1, 2023. That application now is expected to be withdrawn.

Jessica Franks, the Ohio Casino Control Commission’s director of communications, told Gambling.com on Tuesday all applicants have 10 calendar days to update the commission on changes to their status.

Fubo Sportsbook’s status could be addressed at the next regularly scheduled commission meeting on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET.
